The Pre‑Surgical Assessment Center is a team that works prior to hospital arrival with all patients and families to ensure a consistent, comprehensive preparation for surgery. We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner to join our pre‑surgical team. The team is led by APPs who care for surgical patients during their preoperative preparation and coordination for their upcoming surgery. The team covers numerous surgical specialties and partners closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the pre‑surgical team to provide high‑quality, high‑value, specialty‑based care.

- Hours:
Monday – Friday - Role:
Pre‑surgical nurse practitioner – care of patients before surgical procedures, including comprehensive assessments, physicals, pre‑operative testing, education, coordination, optimization of patient readiness, management of pre‑medication, and ensuring smooth transition of care on the day of surgery.
- Comprehensive assessments: conduct thorough patient assessments and review/completion of medical histories.
- Pre‑operative testing and care coordination: ensure all necessary tests and evaluations are completed before surgery.
- Patient education: inform patients on how to prepare for day of surgery.
- Collaboration:
work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other staff to optimize patient readiness. - Risk management:
identify and address potential risks or concerns before surgery.
- Current MN RN/APRN license.
- Graduate of an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program (Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred).
- Nationally board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

The salary is determined by market indicators, candidate’s skills, education, training, credentials, experience, internal equity, and organizational needs.
