The Operations Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating the full scope of third-party manufacturing activities across PURIS companies. The role ensures external manufacturing partners are aligned to approved plans so product is produced, documented, shipped, and inventoried accurately and on time.
This position manages day-to-day interactions with external manufacturers across extrusion, dry blending, down-packing, rebagging, protein processing, spray drying, and related operations. The Operations Planner brings structure, follow-through, and operational clarity to active production while ensuring specifications, schedules, and documentation are executed as intended.
The role serves as the operational point person connecting Sales, Supply Chain, FSQR, Finance, Logistics, and external manufacturers to keep supply moving with minimal disruption.
Pay Rate/Range: $50,000 - $80,000
Pay Frequency: Biweekly
Bonus Eligible: Yes
Work Location: Minneapolis, MN
Travel: 10% (Minimal)

The compensation for this role will be based on qualifications, experience, market data, and internal equity. Actual pay may vary due to factors such as location, skills, education, and performance. Pay is determined transparently, using market benchmarks and ensuring internal equity.
3rd-Party Manufacturing Execution (Primary Accountability)
- Execute approved production plans at all external manufacturing partners
- Act as the day-to-day operational contact for co-manufacturers during active production
- Confirm production schedules, batch sizes, yields, and run readiness
- Coordinate execution across manufacturing types, including:
Extrusion, Dry blending, Down-packing / rebagging, Protein processing, Spray drying - Related toll-manufacturing operations
- Plan and coordinate delivery of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to 3rd-party sites
- Ensure materials align with approved BOMs and specifications
- Track material consumption, yields, and finished goods quantities
- Coordinate inventory movements, transfers, and reconciliations
- Support inventory accuracy across external warehouses and manufacturing locations
- Ensure all required production documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time, including:
Batch records, COAs (as applicable), Production reports, Shipping and receiving documentation - Partner with FSQR to ensure documentation meets release requirements
- Maintain organized records in approved PURIS systems
- Provide clear, timely production updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Flag execution issues, delays, or discrepancies immediately
- Coordinate resolution of execution-level issues (shortages, scheduling changes, paperwork gaps)
- Escalate risks appropriately when cost, quality, or customer delivery may be impacted
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics related to external manufacturing
- Confirm shipment timing, quantities, and destinations
- Review co-manufacturer invoices for accuracy against POs, run data, and agreements
- Flag discrepancies to Finance for resolution
- External manufacturing runs feel predictable and controlled
- Internal teams have confidence that production is being actively managed
- Documentation, inventory, and invoicing issues are caught early—not after the fact
- Problems are surfaced quickly with proposed paths forward
