Are You a Skilled Painter Who Values Precision and Craftsmanship?

Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for a “perfect finish”? Are you experienced in both traditional brushwork and modern spray applications? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative shop environment where your expertise helps define and improve production systems?

If you take pride in seeing a project through from raw wood to a beautifully finished product, you might be the perfect fit for our team!

Hayes Window Restoration is the leading window restoration company in the Twin Cities, dedicated to saving and restoring pre‑1940 wood windows. We’re not your average contractor–we’re a team of craftspeople, educators, and preservationists helping homeowners protect the character of their homes while staying environmentally conscious. Our work is equal parts art, skill, and care.

As our Storm Window Finish Painter, you will be the primary person responsible for the finishing of the high‑quality storm windows we manufacture. You aren’t just “slapping on a coat of paint”–you are the final line of quality control and the person responsible for the longevity and beauty of our wood products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Expert Finishing: Prepping, priming, and painting new wood storm windows using a combination of professional brushwork and spraying techniques.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting every piece for defects, ensuring smooth finishes, and maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
  • System Refinement: Working closely with the shop team to develop, document, and refine painting processes to create more efficient, repeatable, and scalable systems.
  • Shop

    Collaboration:

Coordinating with the fabrication team to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.

  • Technical Skill: Demonstrate mastery of surface preparation, priming, finish coatings, and sprayer maintenance.
  • Detail Oriented: Have a “perfectionist” streak when it comes to drips, runs, and surface consistency.

  • Competitive pay: $24–$28/hour, depending on experience.
  • Performance Bonuses: Eligible for quarterly performance bonuses based on hitting team‑wide goals.
  • Paid Time Off/Sick Days: Accrual rate starting at 3 weeks for the first year, increasing to 4 weeks after the first year.
