Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors related to the specific position. These may include skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Summary

The primary responsibilities of this position is to transfer goods from one location to another. During downtime this individual will support the shipping department as necessary.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Safely transport materials, parts, and products weighing up to 26,000 lbs using a company van or box truck.
  • Turn in receipts from deliveries.
  • Verify that correct inbound and outbound shipment contents and quantity matches packing slip or Job Traveler. Document discrepancies on packing slip and purchase order per procedure. Inspect shipment for damage. Report damage or discrepancies to appropriate staff.
  • Following verification of inbound shipments perform authorization by receiving product per procedure.
  • Label and package outbound shipments per internal and external customer specification, and/or ITAR and US Export Control Compliance Policy.
  • Accurately enter inbound and outbound shipping and tracking data into the Enterprise System.
  • Copies and files paperwork.
  • Perform material handling duties; distributing and moving inbound and outbound shipments to internal customer area, storage, or staging area using material handling equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate storage and protection of finished goods. Rotate stock as required using FIFO procedure. Maintain accuracy of inventory.
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe environment and maintains 5 “S” standards. Complies with safety rules including PPE and OSHA standards.
  • Participates in Lean initiatives eliminating wastes including overproduction, defects, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion and over‑processing.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Required Skills and Experience (Minimum)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1‑year experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Forklift certification, overhead crane and various material handling equipment.
  • Valid Drivers’ License with the ability to pass the Medical Driver qualifications.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language.
  • Knowledge of packing techniques and materials.
  • Ability to perform visual and manual inspection in determining damage to materials, parts, or product.
  • Knowledge of shipping methods, carriers including international and domestic.
  • Knowledge of packing, labeling, and export paperwork required for international and ITAR controlled shipments.
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet standards in relation to storing and transporting chemicals.
  • Knowledge of basic math to verify counts.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Cooperative attitude, shares critical information, and remains professional in difficult situations.
  • Self‑directed; ability to work independently and within teams.
Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred or Helpful)
  • Previous shipping experience.
  • Previous driving experience.
