Overview
General Descriptions: The Shipping & Packaging Associate is responsible for accurately counting, weighing, and packaging parts to fulfill customer orders. This role ensures orders are properly packed, labeled, dated, and shipped to meet on-time delivery requirements. Job duties are divided between the main shipping department and the clean room department, requiring strict adherence to quality, safety, and ISO procedures.
Key Duties/Responsibilities- Retrieve and restock product from the Vertical Lift Module (VLM) system
- Enter weights and shipping data into the computer system
- Accurately count, weigh, and package parts according to customer and company specifications
- Package products in cartons and properly tape and label cartons
- Prepare shipments using UPS, Fed Ex, and other shipping software
- Lift and transport cartons weighing up to 50 lbs. using carts or flatbeds
- Respond to internal requests for verification of product status and availability
- Locate and provide information for customer service inquiries
- Follow all applicable ISO, quality, and safety procedures
- Perform special or custom packaging as required
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform packaging duties in the clean room as needed, following clean room and ISO procedures
- Conduct clean room quality control and inspection duties as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Basic math skills, including counting and weighing
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter data accurately
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Close visual acuity required to perform tasks such as reviewing data, viewing computer screens, performing visual inspections for small defects or parts, and using measurement devices
- Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance
- Ability to lift, carry, and move cartons weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to work in a clean room environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
