General SummaryThis position is responsible for welding on a variety of items, which may be subject to heavy stress or load, typically to achieve mechanical strength.
Essential Functions- Weld a variety of items subject to heavy stress or load.
- Ensure quality of work performed in the welding area.
- Use caution when handling equipment, tools, and parts.
- Maintain machinery and plant areas, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and tools.
- Practice good housekeeping in the welding area.
- Abide by all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including safety practices.

High School Diploma or GED, plus one-year certificate from college or technical school and five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and training.
Language SkillsRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical SkillsAdd, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityApply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
