Contractor Work Model: 100% Onsite
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Some overtime, including weekends is expected
- Prepares product for processing by grinding, dicing, handling, and processing raw and cooked meat in an air‑conditioned refrigerated environment which may contain various odors.
- Operates and loads material into meat grinder machine, mixer, or dicing & slicing equipment, and uses other processing tools & equipment.
- Safely pre‑cuts meat by hand to fit into machine as needed. Ensures production goals are maintained.
- Sets up machinery and mechanical cutting and food processing equipment including machine changeovers, basic calibration, machine start up, equipment sanitization and ensures proper documentation is completed.
- Lifts, manipulates, and transports ingredients weighing up to 55 lbs to meat grinder.
- Adheres to food safety standards by performing quality checks, conducting moisture content tests using specialized equipment, and taking temperature readings.
- Helps in other processing or packaging areas when available and as needed.
- Potential exposure to common allergens including milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post‑high‑school studies such as an Associate’s degree or specialized vocational/technical training is preferred.
- At least two (2) years of experience working in another warehouse setting or food production environment is preferred.
- Must be able to wear slip‑resistant, steel‑toe work boots.
- Able to regularly lift material weighing up to 55 lbs using both arms/hands from the ground to shoulder level.
- Must be capable of basic data entry into a computer.
- Basic understanding of food safety and human safety is required and discussed at interview.
- Must have the ability to work in hot, warm, or cool conditions within the plant.
- Must have the ability to work in an environment potentially exposed to common allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.
