Overview

Manpower Engineering is partnering with a leader in the glass manufacturing industry for a Senior Plant Maintenance Technician.

Job Title:

Senior Plant Maintenance Technician.

Location:

St. Louis Park, MN (ONSITE). Pay: $30 - $35/hour, plus monthly profit sharing (bringing total compensation to ~ $40 - $45/hour). Shift: 1st Shift (9AM – 5PM). Direct Hire. This position will directly support pilot line production and R&D operations. This position will report to the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. This role will be responsible for strengthening our current maintenance practices and upgrading older components of the R&D/pilot line equipment.

Responsibilities

More specifically, this role will require the candidate to understand the operational intricacies of existing turnkey smart glass manufacturing systems as well as assisting in the installation of new equipment and ensuring all preventative maintenance is proceduralized and executed.

  • Experience in electrical systems, including lighting, circuits, and equipment
  • Perform equipment set up as deemed necessary per applicable procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctioning plant/pilot equipment, identify root cause, and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Ensure safe work environment by following all safety and ergonomic rules, including any special PPE and SOPs
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and participate in 5S safety improvement projects
  • Develop, revise, and review related SOPs or job plans/work plans for work related areas
  • Plan and schedule own work activities with operations staff to minimize impact to production
  • Develop and complete various quality systems and safety documentation such as SOP, Change Control (CCMS), Non-Conformance (NC), Work Orders (WO), Job Plans (JP), Hazard Risk Assessments (HRA), Job Hazard Assessments (JHA)
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs and establishing weekly/monthly/yearly schedules
  • Interacting with peers and clients in manufacturing, maintenance, utility plants, analytical labs and contracted services
  • Carry out Preventive and Predictive Maintenance activities with compliant documentation
  • Experience maintaining spare parts inventory and preparing orders for spare parts
  • Assist engineering in scheduling annual shutdowns
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Maintain and manage a software-based work order maintenance program
Qualifications
  • Related associate degree or technical diploma or equivalent is required or 5-10 years maintenance experience
  • High regard for personal and product safety
  • Facilities maintenance and planning experience a plus
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, E-schematics & mechanical prints
  • Ability to use simple maintenance tools such as impacts, wrenches, pliers, hammers, screwdrivers
  • Can read and understand SOPs and manuals
  • Can stand and sit for long periods
  • Experience using equipment to move larger/heavier objects
  • Interpret, install, and modify control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), drives
  • Can complete inter-departmental work orders and requests for general carpentry
  • Experience maintaining RO and DI water circulatory systems
