2nd Shift Furnace Operator

Overview

Minneapolis Glass Company in Brooklyn Park, MN is looking to hire several full-time Furnace Operators to join our second shift Glass Fabrication Team. Do you have experience working on large conveyors and ovens to temper glass products
? Have you loaded and unloaded product from one machine to another in a production process? As a Tempering Furnace Operator at Minneapolis Glass, you will do a variety of tasks for the tempering line that heat treats glass products for safety

As a Tempering Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for completing various tasks on the new tempering line in our new state-of-the-art facility
. You will lift fabricated annealed glass into the washer and load it onto the conveyor
. The glass is then batched and moved through the tempering oven. You will oversee the quality of the product coming through tempering furnace heat treatment. You will inspect finished product to ensure quality is achieved and tempered glass is unloaded and staged for shipment.

Using our standard operating processes and software, you will ensure product is created for jobs on time and to specifications.
Attention to detail, safety and accuracy are key to success.
Your ideas matter and will be key to continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass.

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience on a production line or manufacturing work
• Previous success working a second or third shift
• Must be physically capable of performing the work, with ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted and stand for 10 hours a day.
• Knowledge of glass tempering and fabrication strongly preferred
• Ability to complete training on a first shift before assuming the second shift schedule

Pay rate
:
Second Shift production workers start at $29.72/hr (union scale + $1.00 shift differential
) and progress to $32.75/hr after 12 months.

Work schedule
:
Full-time 4-days a week schedule of 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM Monday-Thursday (10-hour shift with 30-minute unpaid meal and two 15-minute paid breaks). Overtime may be available on Friday or Saturday.

Must be able to train on first shift - approximately 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM for the first 4-6 weeks.
