About the RoleWe are seeking an Industrial Machine Mechanic/Millwright to support a high-volume metal fabrication and manufacturing operation. In this role, you’ll diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain mechanical and hydraulic metal-forming punch presses, metal spinning equipment, and CNC machinery. You’ll conduct inspections, perform maintenance tasks, and play a key role in ensuring machinery remains in optimal working condition. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, hands‑on technical work, and working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all presses in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Create and update documentation for machinery repair histories.
- Fabricate and build machine components to improve performance; collaborate with Engineering on new equipment and safety compliance.
- Partner with Toolroom, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS teams to support efficient machine operation and safety.
- Design, fabricate, and implement safety devices to enhance machine safety and functionality.
- Install new equipment and relocate existing machinery throughout the facility.
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating issues.
- Perform repairs and adjustments, including temporary fixes to maintain uptime while planning long‑term corrective actions.
- Set up new parts on CNC machines, including programming when needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair automation systems for metal‑forming presses.
- Diagnose and repair machine controls, including PLCs and safety control systems.
- Develop and maintain critical spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors; order parts and supplies as needed.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production as required.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience required.
- Ability to manufacture components using mills, lathes, surface grinders, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting/repairing machine controls including PLCs and safety circuits.
- Experience with mechanical and hydraulic presses required. (Experience with injection molding, compression molding, or metal spinning equipment is a plus.)
- Understanding of load‑bearing properties related to ropes, cables, hoists, and cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with skilled trades teams.
- Willingness to respond to occasional emergency breakdowns or off‑hours maintenance needs.
- Full‑time onsite role located in Minneapolis/St. Louis Park, MN, with on‑the‑job training provided.
- Experience with injection molding, compression molding, or metal spinning equipment is a plus.
Compensation: $36.00–$42.00 per hour
