CNC Set Up Horizontal Mill Machinist – Day Shift

Join our team at ARCH‑Minnesota! We are seeking motivated and skilled CNC machinists with 2+ years of experience in setting up horizontal mill machines for our day shift. The role offers a $2000 sign‑on bonus, competitive pay ranging from $25 per hour depending on experience, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan with generous employer match.

Produces machined parts by setting up, programming, and operating a mill computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment.

• Set up parts in CNC machines without assistance or supervision
• Change tools, adjust heights and tool compensations to maintain required quality output of the machine
• Inspect products during the machining operation to determine if parts meet specifications
• Follow all job work order instructions
• Run more than one machine where cycle time permits
• Complete all required shop floor documentation for the job including part dimensional and visual inspection records
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and reporting the need for repairs
• Understand and comply with company safety guidelines, quality systems, and housekeeping standards

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience setting up CNC mill machine tools
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident (contractual requirement)

• Experience editing CNC machine programs and writing basic programs
• Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing with profile tolerancing preferred
• Strong math background
• Demonstrated problem‑solving ability
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Requires continuous mental and visual attention. Ability to stand for a shift, sit, talk and hear frequently required. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Exposure to manufacturing areas where temperature may vary and personal protective equipment is required.
