The Associate Technician is responsible for the set‑up, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned area for surface or finish portions of lab production.

• Perform tasks of area production machine functions.
• Interpret Rx work ticket.
• Operate specified equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct basic/routine maintenance of assigned equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot mal‑functioning equipment; advise supervisor of possible remedies.
• Perform lens wash, tool selection/replacement, equipment set‑up for daily production, equipment clean‑up at day’s end.
• Prepare necessary solutions or slurry mixtures for lens production process and ensure sufficient supplies.
• Perform daily and weekly calibration of equipment as directed by area supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the laboratory to ensure understanding and proper application of company policies, practices, and procedure.
• Maintain work area and common areas of department in neat, clean, and organized condition.
• Follow all company and laboratory policies and procedures; comply with attendance, safety rules and regulations; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Assist others as necessary to meet deadlines or maintain an even workload; cooperate with colleagues and demonstrate a good attitude.
• Provide proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals, which requires safety training.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to multi‑task and maintain orientation to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic high‑school‑level math skills.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range:
Starting at $16.75/hour plus shift differential, with potential for higher pay based on experience.
