Responsibilities- Perform functional testing, calibration, and repair of assemblies and sub-assemblies submitted to the department. Ability to train others to perform these duties.
- Verify that assemblies and sub-assemblies are tested and calibrated to the latest engineering specifications by using the latest revision test procedures, schematics, and assembly prints. Demonstrate initiative to create or edit technical processes to assist with testing and troubleshooting of various devices.
- Proven troubleshooting skills to repair defective assemblies or sub-assemblies to the component level and rework in compliance with current quality standards.
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately generate and maintain data of repaired assemblies and sub-assemblies to improve processes and product quality.
- Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities, root causes, and verification of corrective actions to reduce failures. Conduct experiments to test corrective actions.
- Use ACE tools to identify root causes of failures and measure effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Load and monitor product run-in areas.
- Assist Production Engineering with design, assembly, and repair of test fixtures; identify fixtures that improve troubleshooting capability.
- Assist in creating and maintaining test procedures; maintain department procedures in LOS database.
- Provide technical support to other areas to help meet production and shipment schedules; ensure production lines run without problems with test equipment or first pass improvements.
- Assist manufacturing engineering with experiments using analytical software (Excel, Minitab); design, execute and analyze experiments and document results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Required:
High School diploma or GED - Required:
Minimum of 3 years' experience with test, calibration and/or repair of electronic assemblies or devices.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly prints, and technical procedures.
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, voltmeters).
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing PCBs to the component level.
- Willingness to support and/or lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities through data collection and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and analytical software tools.
- Experience designing and executing experiments with clear, documented results.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience using email and web-based training tools for communication and development.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and present data through statistical and graphical analysis.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in high-stress situations.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to support business needs.
