The Materials Manager directs the Supervisor of Materials, Supervisor of Tooling, and all Material Coordinators while overseeing end to end materials, inventory, and stockroom operations. The role ensures inventory accuracy and availability, manages shortages, overstock, loans, exchanges, and consignment activity, and maintains all inventory locations and shelf life control programs. It provides technical oversight for outstation support, fly away kits, COMAT, and off site storage, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations and internal SOPs.
The position also governs shipping, receiving, issuing, and logistics workflows to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant material movement across the network.

- Lead and support Material Coordinators. Develop and track all training requirements and curriculum, as well as preform all administrative functions
- Communicate inventory shortages and overstock to Manager Purchasing/Repairs and Sr. Inventory Control Analyst to ensure inventory levels are appropriately set utilizing Min/Max system
- Monitor all loans and exchanges to ensure they are processed and returned expeditiously, while ensuring cores and return paperwork meet contract return requirements
- Administration of consignment inventory part sales
- Responsible for setup, changing, and closure of inventory locations in Sun Country network
- Issue and monitor shelf-life procedures to ensure they are being accomplished in all Sun Country Airlines' identified inventory locations
- Manage administration and tracking of material and tooling allocated to outstations, fly-away kits, COMAT, consignment inventory, and off-site storage facilities
- Maintain and track inventory accuracy utilizing cycle count process
- Maintain record of Hazardous Materials with relation to shipping, maintaining SDS files, accumulation of waste, and disposal in accordance with all local, state and Sun Country policy.
- Develop, Monitor and Enforce department SOP procedures to ensure adherence to all Sun Country Airlines' material guidelines and practices
- Management of stockroom functions including, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, binning, issuing, counting, tracking, logistics, housekeeping, and security for all material and tools controlled by the Materials Department
- Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines
- Provide support to Materials stockroom, as required
- Perform other functions as assigned by the Director Materials
- Exercise authority as delegated by the Director Materials
- Experience in Inventory, Warehouse and Materials Management
- Proven leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform independently and deliver results to the requisite quality and timeline metrics
- Must be able to obtain MSP SIDA badge
- Previous aviation experience
- Associates or bachelor's degree in aviation management
$70,.00. This is the base compensation hiring range for this role.
