Role OverviewThe City Operations Manager role is a key role within Bird’s Operations Team. The City Operations Manager will work with our regional Operations leadership to manage our business in the Minneapolis area, including full P&L ownership, vendor and stakeholder relationship management, and key strategic project delivery. We need a strategic critical thinker who can start from a broad perspective and dive deep into details to ensure complete alignment between strategy, execution, and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end‑to‑end operation of the portfolio with support from the Operations leadership team
- Track and report critical operational, ridership, supply and demand metrics and use data to optimize processes, creatively solve problems, and track results
- Represent Bird and resolve any operational matters for stakeholders, including city, vendors, and third parties
- Drive continuous growth through local campaigns and initiatives to improve market share
- Manage costs, keeping a keen eye on profitability and positive margins
- Build and lead a highly efficient and motivated operations team, including daily oversight, coordination, and training of hourly frontline staff in specific markets
- Prioritize tasks, solve problems, and overcome obstacles independently
- Collaborate, communicate, and influence across the organization to ensure timely resolutions, quality control, and process feedback
- Show initiative as a self‑starter, working well without supervision and driving projects independently
- Contribute to Bird culture by building a fun, inclusive, and safe workplace
- 3+ years of relevant experience, at least 1+ year managing team members
- Self‑motivated, energetic, and driven individual with ability to learn new skills, monitor and manage a team, and grow with the role
- Engaging communicator able to connect with senior leaders and motivate teams
- Strong network‑building and liaison skills with external partners and city stakeholders
- Experience solving complex problems, exercising sound judgment and navigating ambiguous environments
- Ability to simplify difficult problems into actionable tasks
- Data‑driven mindset, strong attention to detail, and obsession with process improvement
- Comfortable learning and adapting to new concepts and tools

$65,000 — $88,000 USD
