Director of Executive Search @ MMC Consulting

We are actively seeking a Finance & Accounting Professional to join MMC Consulting in our Finance & Management Consulting Practice. As a Controller in our Consulting Practice, you will play a key role in client service, seamlessly integrating into our clients’ teams and projects to create and deliver tailored solutions to meet their business needs.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of years relative work experience, currently functioning as a Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Manager
  • Prior client service experience & working on projects is preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Relevant experience in multiple industries preferred
Skills
  • Ability to make client recommendations and follow-through to execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a team according to project plans and budgets
  • Ability to ideate and create effective client deliverables
  • Thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong research and technical writing skills
Client Service Responsibilities

The responsibilities below span a wide range of client needs. Candidates will be considered for opportunities that best fit their unique skills and experience.

  • Lead finance assessments and transformations by identifying inefficiencies in financial and accounting processes and implementing improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide clients with transitional services to guide key leadership changes in a strategic, organized process that enables value capture, optimization, and sustainable success of new leaders
  • Review technical accounting and internal control memos tailored to client needs
  • Analyze and evaluate internal controls related to financial risks
  • Develop and implement strategies and procedures to improve internal controls
FP&A and Corporate Finance Advisory
  • Oversee clients' financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the company's financial health and stability
  • Execute financial due diligence for M&A (including performance analysis, quality of earnings, opening balance sheet preparation, intangible valuation)
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and assess the long-term impact of potential strategic business decisions
Project & Change Management
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client expectations
  • Partner with clients to support the execution of strategy-related activities, including change management, stakeholder management, communications, learning & training, success measurement, readiness, leader enablement, change networks, etc.
  • Develop and manage project plans for system implementations (ERP, GL, inventory management, etc.)
