Senior Global Manager of Strategic Planning

A Day in the Life

As Senior Global Manager of Strategic Planning you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end planning function, ensuring accurate demand forecasting, robust supply planning, and optimal inventory management. This role will drive planning strategy, develop high-performing teams, implement S&OP tools, and collaborate cross functionally to support revenue targets, product availability, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Responsibility:

• Lead and mentor the planning team (demand, supply, and regional planning)
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement industry’s best practices
• Own and evolve the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process

• Oversee development of accurate demand forecasts using statistical models, historical data, and market intelligence
• Partner with Sales, Finance, and Marketing to align demand expectations and promotional activities
• Track forecast accuracy/BIAS and drive corrective actions

• Create supply plans that balance capacity, lead times, and customer service requirements
• Optimize inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess/obsolete stock

• Partner closely with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Finance to support production and fulfilment
• Lead planning meetings and executive reporting for S&OP
• Escalate and communicate risks while driving mitigation strategies

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering or related field
• 7+ years of experience in supply chain planning with 5+ years in a leadership role

• Proven experience managing demand or supply planning teams in a complex environment (global, multi-site, regulated, etc.)
• Strong analytical, Excel, and ERP/MRP system skills
• Experience with S&OP or IBP processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Master’s degree or MBA
• APICS / CPIM / CSCP certification
• Experience with advanced planning tools or AI-driven forecasting
• Lean / Six Sigma or process improvement experience
