Maintenance Summer Worker
Responsibilities- Summer work will include mowing grass with riding and push mowers.
- Clean and service mowers on a weekly basis.
- Using weed trimmers around trees and buildings.
- Planting, trimming and watering trees.
- Painting interior or exterior of buildings.
- Clean and wash vehicles as needed.
- Clean and remove garbage from buildings as needed.
This is a temporary seasonal position with start and end dates based on school schedules. The schedule is 40 hours per week and typically 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; these hours may be adjusted under certain circumstances.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Must be able to work in a wide range of outdoor conditions
- Ability to sit, kneel, stand, and bend frequently and lift 10-50 pounds
- Candidates must be willing to travel to offsite field trials periodically
- Current and valid driver's license
- Interest in maintenance, mechanics, and agriculture
The Northwest Research and Outreach Center (NWROC) in Crookston is one of 10 University of Minnesota Research and Outreach Centers throughout Minnesota. NWROC belongs to the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) on the St. Paul, MN Campus. The specific mission of the NWROC is to conduct applied agronomic research on issues important to NW Minnesota agriculture and extend the results of that research through outreach/extension programs.
Payand Benefits
Pay Range: $15.25 – $20.00 per hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
