Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Custodian, who would be responsible for deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces, stripping, waxing and burnishing of hard floor surfaces. This position may also perform general cleaning duties within our senior living and skilled nursing community in Bloomington, MN.

Work schedule:

32 hours in 2 weeks, part‑time schedule, 8‑hour shift length. Day shift. Every weekend.

Location:

Martin Luther Care Center, part of Martin Luther Senior Living Campus, East Bloomington, near the Minnesota River Bluffs. 137 units between Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, and Transitional Care. Top Nursing Home and Transitional Care Center by US News & World Report.

• Carpet sweeping, floor sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
• Carpet extraction.
• Stripping, waxing, and burnishing of hard floor surfaces.
• Assist housekeeping and laundry staff as needed.
• Assist with moving boxes, furniture, etc.
• Empties and removes trash and recycling.
• Performs other duties assigned.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Able to read/understand instructions for safety sheets and information on chemicals, infection control practices and body mechanics.
• Ability to perform relevant floor care procedures.
• Experience with mechanical equipment.

• One year previous experience in a similar environment preferred.
• Experience in floor care, custodial and/or cleaning work preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
