Senior Counsel/Associate General Counsel – Tax (Hybrid) – Allianz Life.

• Provide quality legal services on a timely, cost‑efficient basis.
• Provide legal and tax advice to business partners regarding life insurance and annuity products, and guide the proper administration of these products.
• Advise on legal and tax regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures, best practices, and strategies for managing risk.
• Analyze business plans and initiatives to identify legal risks, advise on risk mitigation and best practices, and partner with Operations management to contain legal risks.
• Offer timely tax advice and guidance on day‑to‑day legal issues and projects related to new business, in‑force administrations, and claim processing.
• Collaborate with attorneys in operations, distribution, product, litigation, and other legal and compliance staff.
• Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources, including generative AI.

• 8‑10 years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, administrative agency, or insurance/financial services company.
• Advanced degree required: JD from an ABA‑accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in Minnesota or an active member in good standing with a state bar, with the ability to be admitted in Minnesota within six months of the start date.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future (includes H‑1B, H4, L‑1, L‑2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other non‑immigrant visas).

Job posting range: $141,000 – $235,000 (exclusive of company benefits). This role is also eligible for an annual incentive program. The final base salary will be determined based on experience, skills, competencies, and equity considerations.
