Bassford Remele, a top law firm in Minneapolis with over 50 attorneys, has an opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Administrative Assistant. Bassford Remele is a full-service litigation firm providing trial and appellate representation for regional and national clients in a wide array of complex business litigation. The Legal Administrative Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the firm’s efforts to provide exceptional legal services to clients in the Consumer Finance sector.
Bassford Remele’s Consumer Finance practice group defends financial institutions, creditors, collection agencies, hospitals, attorneys, and other businesses in consumer‑protection litigation at both the state and national level. The team has decades of experience handling thousands of cases under statutes such as the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, and related consumer‑protection laws, including actions brought by government regulators and complex class actions that help shape emerging law.
As a go‑to resource in the consumer finance space, the group advises on risk management and regulatory compliance, frequently speaks at conferences, and publishes on developing issues to help clients navigate evolving Consumer Financial Protection Bureau requirements and protect creditors’ rights.
- Provide miscellaneous administrative support to attorneys and paralegals as needed;
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and reminders related to case activity;
- Coordinate meetings, calls, and internal case discussions;
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical files in accordance with firm standards;
- Assist with billing support, and expense documentation;
- Handle routine correspondence and communications with clients, courts, and third parties;
- File documents with courts and administrative agencies (e-filing and physical filing);
- Prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Follow firm policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements;
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and external contacts; and
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- 2+ years of experience in an administrative support role within a law firm or professional services firm
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Attitude above all else – willingness to jump in with both feet, to be coachable, and to work well with others as part of a team
$65,000 - $85,000 annual base salary, commensurate with experience
