Trustpoint is proud to partner with an Am Law 100 law firm in their search for a Billing Specialist or Senior Billing Specialist on a direct hire basis. This role is responsible for managing client billing processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting attorneys and staff with billing-related tasks in a fast-paced legal environment. The role is eligible for a hybrid schedule after an introductory period.
Successful candidates will have 1+ year of law firm billing experience for the Billing Specialist level and 5+ years of experience for the Senior Billing Specialist level. These positions are available in Minneapolis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Denver, or Phoenix.
- Generate and edit client pre-bills (BIMs)
- Ensure accuracy and timely distribution of final invoices
- Process write-offs and write-downs and obtain required approvals
- Maintain integrity and accuracy of billing system data
- Respond to attorney and staff inquiries regarding billing and billing procedures
- Adhere to established billing cycles and cut-off deadlines
- Ensure compliance with firm billing policies and client guidelines
- Work independently while organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks under time constraints
- Respond to requests requiring analysis of billing histories and basic financial data
- Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ year of legal billing experience required; large law firm experience preferred
- 5+ years of legal billing experience required for Senior Billing Specialist consideration
- Proficiency with electronic billing (e-billing) platforms and client and vendor billing requirements is required
- Proficiency with SurePoint Legal Management System or Aderant is highly desirable
- Experience with specialized legal accounting or billing software strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications
- Strong numerical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff
Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package are offered, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, bonus eligibility, and more. The anticipated salary range is $60,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience and education.
