Compensation Range: $60 - $68/hr W2
We are seeking a customer-obsessed Lead Experience Designer with a specialized focus on Accessibility (A11Y) to join a high-visibility team within the financial services sector. In this role, you will ensure that digital solutions are inclusive, human-centered, and compliant with the highest standards.
As a Lead, you will oversee a dedicated offshore design team based in India, providing the architectural guidance and documentation necessary for them to execute high-quality work independently. While you will maintain "hands-on" proficiency in Figma, your primary focus will be leadership, stakeholder management, and ensuring accessibility excellence across deposit management and growth-side digital products.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a pod of offshore designers, ensuring project timelines are met and design quality aligns with brand standards. - Accessibility Consultancy:
Serve as the subject matter expert on WCAG guidelines, performing audits and providing remediation strategies for digital products. - Design Strategy:
Partner with UX Researchers and Product Owners to translate complex business requirements into intuitive experience architectures. - Technical Integration:
Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure semantic HTML and ARIA markup are implemented correctly. - Project Impact:
Lead design efforts for a major site-wide rebrand and high-priority initiatives involving CD renewals and deposit growth.
- Experience:
5+ years of professional UX Design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior capacity. - Figma Mastery: 2+ years of advanced experience using Figma for complex design systems.
- Accessibility Expertise:
Strong understanding of A11Y standards and experience with assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, Voice Over, or Talkback). - Technical Literacy:
Solid understanding of the front-end development process and semantic web standards. - Leadership Style:
Proven ability to manage offshore teams and provide clear, documented direction to ensure asynchronous productivity.
- Background in Fin Tech or Banking is highly preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CPACC or WAS.
- Familiarity with Design Thinking frameworks and workshop facilitation.
