There's currently a Workstation Analyst position available with one of our law firm clients in Downtown Minneapolis. This position will be 100% on-site in Downtown Minneapolis. This person will be helping assist with a significant PC refresh project that could turn into a long term opportunity. Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
-Installation, configuration and maintenance of software and hardware for end user computing devices. Execute difficult systems integration and support projects. Gather, define and implement business and end user requirements for new systems and applications. Develop project plans, specifications, and perform difficult to sometimes complex problem solving, programming/scripting and database queries. Automate routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs. Conduct and oversee hardware and software audits of workstations to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, configuration and security guidelines.

Develop and maintain methods for management of the workstation environment. Influence and at times coach and review the work of Workstation Services Technicians.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Evaluate proposed and existing systems and applications for business purposes, effectiveness, compliance with firm and industry standards, and flexibility for meeting future needs.
-Solve problems through off-the-shelf solutions, process and workflow changes wherever possible, leveraging automation and scripting to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
-Gather, define and implement business and end user requirements for new systems, applications and enhancements; research and identify development alternatives; prepare recommendations; make presentations to customers and management; document decisions; implement solutions.
-Prepare detailed specifications for developing custom databases and applications, including input sources, data conversion mechanisms, process workflow, client/server and security issues, interface design, and output requirements.
-Review, test, and implement Microsoft security measures including security updates, hot fixes and Feature Update releases. Manage and facilitate installations and maintenance of other security applications including but not limited to Antivirus, Host IPS, Desktop Firewall, Antispyware, and Workstation Encryption.
-Conduct systematic hardware and software audit procedures on workstations to evaluate control effectiveness, validate compliance with configuration baselines, and ensure alignment with security, governance, and operational audit requirements.
-Support creation and modification of software installation packages. Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems via Microsoft MECM, Microsoft Intune, and Broadcom Ghost Solution Suite and/or customized scripts. Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware for end user computing devices, including troubleshooting and lifecycle support.
-Participate in planning and execution of management of PCs, automated software deployment and user environment by Active Directory, Entra , GPO, Intune Policies and other tools, including diagramming, flowcharting, design, security requirements, ensuring data integrity, scripting, debugging, performance optimization, testing, customer feedback and approval, implementation planning and rollouts, documentation, and ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance. Develop and maintain methods for management of the workstation environment, including standards, repeatable procedures, and automation.
-As part of the IS Team, plan, manage and execute difficult systems integration projects, including network, server and peripheral performance and capacity planning; hardware and software acquisition; implementation planning, timing and resources; and vendor relationships.
-Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system, hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation, including workstation build standards, configuration baselines, and audit/support artifacts.
-Participate in management of implementation of all solutions, including project planning, requirements validation, deployment execution, and post-implementation support.
-Influence and at times coach and review the work of Workstation Services Technicians through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required:

-Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or other related discipline, or equivalent training and/or experience with computer systems.
