IT Support Specialist – Part‑Time (Temporary with Potential for Extension or Permanent Placement)

In this role, you will provide hands‑on end‑user support, assist with onboarding and offboarding, maintain workstations and systems, and help ensure our technology environment runs smoothly and securely. Primary Position Responsibilities Include
  • Serve as the first point of contact for calls, walk‑up incidents, and service requests.
  • Provide technical support to end users via phone, Microsoft Teams, and email.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Set up workstations, laptops, and other IT equipment.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems and platforms.
  • Install, update, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications and services, including SharePoint.
  • Perform routine maintenance on hardware, including updates and patches.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to address infrastructure and operational needs.
  • Manage the inventory of IT assets.
  • Assist with HPC system builds, deployment, and support.
  • Provide server system support for both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Assist with network hardware installations, upgrades, and configuration tasks.
Position Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of IT‑related experience, specifically in desktop or end‑user support roles.

Experience Must Include
  • Personal computer workstation support, specifically Windows environments
  • Active Directory and/or Azure user administration
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in computer science, Networking, Cloud Technologies, or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, including familiarity with Power Shell.
  • Proficiency in computer management, troubleshooting, and desktop support
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Share Point
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service mindset and professionalism
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, both manual and powered
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Position Details & Benefits
  • Part‑time, temporary position up to 19 hours per week, with the potential for extension or permanent placement
  • Based in our Minneapolis, MN office
  • Scheduled during standard business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Availability required between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM; specific schedule to be determined within these hours
  • 100% employer‑paid parking or bus pass
  • Accrual of Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) of one hour for every 30 hours worked, in accordance with the City of Minneapolis Sick and Safe Time Ordinance.

Salary

$24-$26/hour
