Overview

Pure Alchemy Design | Award-Winning Commercial Interior Design Studio

Location: Minneapolis-based | Mostly Remote

Time: Part-Time — starting at ~20 hrs/week (strategic leadership track; structured to expand with exceptional fit)

Status: 1099 Contractor

Pure Alchemy Design is a human-led, human-centered commercial interior design studio in a season of intentional growth and operational focus. We’re strengthening the structure, workflows, and clarity that support consistent delivery—without losing agility.

We’re hiring an Operations & Growth Lead to serve as an overseer and proactive initiator—someone who brings calm structure to fast-moving work, strengthens how the studio runs, and helps create a more consistent operational cadence week to week.

This role is intentionally designed as a long-term partnership, with expanding scope and authority as we build together.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN (IN PRACTICE)

You’ll be the steady hand that keeps the studio moving.

You oversee the operational rhythm across projects and priorities—bringing clarity, sequencing, and follow-through so the studio runs cleanly, calmly, and consistently.

You’ll turn complexity into simple, usable systems.

You notice patterns, tighten what’s loose, and build lightweight workflows that people actually use—without overbuilding process or slowing momentum. You’ll also steward and strengthen existing systems so the operation holds together as we grow.

You’ll lead with human judgment and tool fluency.

We’re a human-led, human-centered firm that thoughtfully integrates modern tools to strengthen clarity and communication. You know what should stay human-led, what can be tool-supported, and how to keep it practical.

You’ll act as an operational counterpart in practice.

You translate priorities into action, surface risks early, and make decisions easier—not heavier. The goal is steady progress, fewer dropped threads, and a studio that feels lighter to run.

Success looks like this: fewer repeated questions, cleaner handoffs, faster decisions, and a more confident operational cadence week to week.

WHO THRIVES HERE

You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring calm authority, strong judgment, and “kind clarity”
  • Take initiative without needing a full playbook
  • Build systems and oversee them so they stick (simple, durable, teachable)
  • Improve what exists before reinventing everything
  • Know how to protect leadership bandwidth while keeping execution moving
  • Are energized by a long-term leadership track in a high-trust, high-standard studio

Experience: 5–10 years in operations, program management, project management, or systems leadership (or equivalent hands-on experience).

Design or construction experience is helpful but not required. Operational intelligence is.

PLATFORM + APPLICATION AFFINITY

You don’t need experience with a specific software stack. You do need strong platform fluency—comfort learning tools quickly, connecting workflows across systems, and helping others adopt process improvements with clarity.

We’ll align on our platforms and systems during the interview process.
