Key Responsibilities

The Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services (IAAS) practice is a market‑leading service covering all segments of the property/casualty and life/health insurance industries. We’ll look to you to support our Client Engagement teams, performing a diverse range of actuarial tasks, including financial modelling, loss reserving, financial and regulatory reporting, product development and pricing analysis, litigation support, customer analytics, rate setting and other consulting projects.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, finance, or mathematics‑related field, supported by a strong academic record.
  • A strong preference for candidates that have at least 2 actuarial exams passed.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring clear and effective interactions with team members and clients.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Relevant prior internship experience in the actuarial field.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s licence is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with a strong academic foundation in business and/or technology and demonstrated ability to evaluate complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Excel VBA, R, Python).
  • Collaborative problem‑solving skills and a keen interest in technology to positively influence global and domestic business operations.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $88,000-$90,000.
