We are seeking a Factory IT Support Technician to join a global wafer systems IT support team within a leading technology manufacturer’s IT organization. This role supports the production of recording heads in a 24×7 manufacturing environment and is based onsite at a major technology campus in Bloomington, MN. You will play a critical role in maintaining factory IT systems, ensuring uptime for mission‑critical equipment and software, and contributing to global projects that enhance factory operations.
Job DescriptionAs a Factory IT Support Technician, you will:
- Provide onsite IT help desk coverage in a 12-hour rotating shift (day/night).
- Install and maintain factory PCs according to established standards.
- Perform security patching and ensure compliance with information security initiatives, including endpoint inventory, antivirus, and Windows patching.
- Support wafer floor factory software and various solutions hosted in data centers.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents, record and track tickets, and ensure timely closure with customer feedback.
- Monitor alerts, service availability, and performance dashboards, responding promptly to maintain service levels.
- Follow troubleshooting guides (OCAPs) for common application issues.
- Collaborate with global IT teams to ensure compliance with factory IT standards and protocols.
- Implement and support changes to factory PCs and systems.
- Provide IT support during planned maintenance activities.
- Develop small-scale scripting or automation as needed and leverage GenAI for solutions.
- Lay underfloor cables in fabrication areas to support tool deployments and movements.
Required:
- Experience with PC setup and installation.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for PCs, software, and applications.
- Ability to work independently in a self‑directed environment.
- Prior experience with help‑deskflammatory support.
- Availability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night).
- Onsite presence required.
Preferred:
- Coding skills and ability to develop automation scripts.
- Experience executing IT-related projects.
- IT support experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with service/request management systems such as Service Now, Freshworks, or JIRA.
- Degree, coursework, or certifications in IT.
