Position OverviewLakewood is seeking an IT Manager who will be responsible for overall planning, implementation and maintenance of all information technology systems addition, they ensure technology supporting memorial services and community events are in top working order, performant, and user friendly to ensure minimal disruption. The individual must possess the ability to manage essential hardware and software technologies while demonstrating the compassion needed to ensure memorial experiences and spaces are meeting and/or exceeding customer experience requirements.
What You’ll Do:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage a host of technology solutions currently in place to meet strategic goals and day‑to‑day operations
- Provision access through user accounts and requirements‑based permission levels
- Identify opportunities to better leverage existing solution functionality, integrate between two solutions using services or APIs, or fill identified gaps by procuring and implementing other solutions
- Oversee database administration, including focus on quality, understanding of what resides in the data structures, and fit‑for‑purpose and ethical use of the data
- Enable use of Lakewood’s data as a critical asset through reporting, metrics, dashboards, and advancement of AI leading to automation, insights and decision making
- Seek incremental change opportunities through the better use of technology, process improvements or better defining roles and responsibilities
- Administer Lakewood’s network, including Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth for visitors and staff use as well as server access points
- Maintain and support computer hardware, tablets, and any specialized equipment used throughout the facilities and grounds
- Implement and oversee cybersecurity protocols, including encryption, regular backups, and multi‑factor authentication, to protect sensitive family and cemetery data from breaches, and minimize financial risk
- Develop and test a disaster‑recovery plan for data backup and recovery to protect against data loss from natural disasters, system failures, or cyberattacks
- Ensure the cemetery's data handling practices comply with all relevant local, state, and federal privacy regulations
- Provide technical support through formalized ticket/issue tracking, acting as the first point of contact for staff with software or hardware issues or needs
- Create and conduct training sessions for all staff members on how to effectively use enterprise solutions, and deliver training as needed to functional areas leveraging software to meet their specific needs
- Maintain comprehensive lists of all IT vendors and solutions, including user and technical documentation
- Capture and maintain valuable onboarding or awareness documentation such as user manuals/guides, best practices or standards, frequently asked questions, or checklists in a centralized and maintained document storage location
- Lead the creation and execution of the organization’s IT strategy and long‑term roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives
- Oversee system and services vendor management, focusing on procurement, cost optimization, risk mitigation and relationship management
- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, making recommendations for technology upgrades and long‑term investments
- Oversee vendor and contract management for technology service providers as well as hardware and software solution providers, ensuring a robust procurement process is in place to minimize risk of shadow IT
