Desktop Support Engineer (Helpdesk) at Merchant & Gould P.C. – Minneapolis, WI (Hybrid)

Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000 (based on experience)

Merchant & Gould is a leading intellectual property law firm with over 100 years of experience. We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Engineer to maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot the company’s PC hardware and software across a Windows Active Directory domain.

• Diagnose and resolve a wide range of Windows application issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement, upgrade, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within supported End‑User Computing systems.
• Configure, maintain, and deploy desktop operating systems, ensuring data integrity and system security.
• Create and maintain service documentation for IT personnel and customers.
• Work cross‑functionally with internal departments to improve the customer experience and identify root causes of hardware/software issues.
• Collaborate with vendor partners to resolve moderate to complex product issues and manage computer leases.
• Perform patch management of information systems.
• Maintain and update asset inventory.
• Participate in new project efforts and provide documentation and training for new systems and processes.
• Assist senior staff with advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of End‑User technology systems for software deployment, patching, and systems management.
• Limited travel to office locations.

• 1–4 years of experience supporting desktops and laptops in a Windows Active Directory or Azure Entra t.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in an enterprise environment working with Tier II hardware.
• Experience with Windows 11 and Office 365.
• Strong interpersonal skills and friendly disposition.
• Ability to work independently, on a team, and multitask.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
• In order to perform one (1) or more essential functions of this role, five (5) days in the office are required.
