Senior Engineer – Core Infrastructure Network Connectivity & Automation
Smart Info Solutions llc is seeking a Senior Engineer to develop, deploy and support high-performance network solutions for data centers.
Team OverviewOur team of engineers support, build, and innovate network connectivity and automation capabilities. We collaborate with other engineers and cross-domain teams to implement, manage, troubleshoot and improve network connectivity across data center, remote sites, cloud infrastructure, and security solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy and maintain scalable network solutions for data centers, including core switches, edge routers, load balancers and related equipment.
- Implement network automation tools to streamline configuration, provisioning, and monitoring.
- Develop automation using scripting languages such as Python and Ansible to simplify network management.
- Assist in capacity planning and evaluate network performance for scalability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies (SDN, network automation) and evaluate implementation opportunities.
- Lead root cause analysis and triage complex issues across systems.
- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to planning activities.
- Assist staff/principal engineers.
- Configuration, installation, and support of large enterprise platforms from start to finish.
- Advocate industry trends and standards.
- Lead phases of large capability or products or processes.
- Ensure quality of team output.
- Identify opportunities in SDLC, reliability, monitoring and recommend tools.
- Influence architecture of multiple systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving standards and vendor technologies.
- Solve highly complex issues using new approaches.
- Understand and evaluate risks of changes to systems.
- Deliver projects on time, estimate accurately, and meet those estimates.
- Own technical testing and performance of products or processes.
- Tackle hard debugging, incident response and reverse engineering tasks.
- Provide feedback on products outside core area.
- 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field, OR industry certification(s) OR equivalent professional experience.
- 7-8+ years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Industry certifications (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, AWS).
- Experience in a large global enterprise (1000+ sites).
- Azure, GCP or AWS and hybrid cloud expertise.
- Experience driving automation efforts.
- Development and architecture experience for network connectivity and security solutions.
Location:
Minneapolis, MN
Salary: $74,800.00 – $
Full-time, Mid-Senior level.
