About the Job
The University of Minnesota School of Nursing Human Resources (HR) team is excited to offer a valuable opportunity to join us in a temporary HR support role. This position provides a hands‑on introduction to the field of human resources, offering the chance to build practical skills, contribute to meaningful work, and gain real‑world experience in a dynamic, collaborative office setting.
As a member of our team, you’ll play an important role in supporting core HR operations. You will manage individual responsibilities and contribute to team projects, working closely with HR professionals to learn how HR functions in a fast‑paced academic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities New Hire Paperwork & Onboarding (30%)- Process new‑hire paperwork, including I‑9 verification.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding onboarding and required documentation.
- Digitize personnel records and upload them to the secure Perspective Content database.
- Ensure timely and accurate organization of electronic files and records.
- Assist with spreadsheet creation and maintenance.
- Analyze data and compile summaries for reporting purposes.
- Provide general administrative assistance on various HR projects and initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Strong sense of professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with basic office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Availability to work onsite during weekday business hours (Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM).
Pay Range: $15.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
