Cardiology Technician

Job Overview

We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a casual cardiology technician to join our team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank).

Schedule
This casual role will primarily cover evening and night shifts, with hours from 2:30 pm–11:00 pm and 10:45 pm–7:15 am.

• Performing ECGs, and application of stress and Holter, Event, and BP monitor.
• Preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures to patients.
• Performing all file maintenance activities related to the tests including filing, copying, faxing, and file pulling.
• Maintaining all testing equipment.
• Troubleshooting of equipment issues and conducting preventative maintenance checks.
• Initiating service calls on equipment not working.
• In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS).
• Other duties, as assigned.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 0–2 years EKG or patient care experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

• Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree.
• Completion of accredited cardiac technician program or equivalent clinical experience.
• 2–4 years of EKG or patient care experience.
