- Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures.
- Scrub in for sterile procedures, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details.
- Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Maintain radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment and ensure readiness for procedures.
- Restock and manage procedural supplies (catheters, guide wires, contrast agents).
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and team members to provide seamless care.
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols.
- Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures.
- Adhere to hospital safety and regulatory standards; perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations.
Required Qualifications
:
- One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
- Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES certification in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred Qualifications
:
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations.
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification.
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
- English language proficiency for reading, writing, and communication.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills.
- Physical: ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend.
- Interpersonal: ability to work with diverse personnel professionally.
- Technical: ability to assist with procedures and operate department equipment.
- Mental: ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle irregular schedules; ability to work with or without supervision as required.
