We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with experience working with children and adolescents to join our dedicated respite team. This is a hands‑on caregiving role that focuses on promoting independence, personal growth, and overall well‑being in a supportive, home‑like setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and supervision to children with disabilities in a residential respite setting.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and eating.
  • Create a nurturing and safe space through patience, empathy, and clear communication.
  • Implement individualized service and behavior support plans tailored to each child’s unique needs.
  • Engage clients in age‑appropriate recreational and community‑based activities to foster skill‑building and social integration.
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation of daily activities, incidents, and client progress while complying with HIPAA and 245D licensing standards.
  • Collaborate with families, clinical professionals, and other team members to ensure consistent and holistic care.
  • Support with mobility needs and physical transfers as required.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or youth with disabilities, especially those on the autism spectrum, is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed care, positive behavior supports, and developmental disabilities.
  • Flexibility to work across two locations (Bloomington & Maple Grove).
  • Ability to lift and assist with mobility as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor essential to supporting diverse client needs.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Must pass DHS background study and meet all 245D licensing requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Why Join MNCCS?
  • Be part of a mission‑driven organization serving communities across the Twin Cities.
  • Work in a supportive and collaborative environment with professional growth opportunities.
  • Receive training in 245D, crisis management, and other key areas of disability support.
