Position Overview
The Domestic Abuse Project is currently seeking a full-time, Victim survivor/Intervention and prevention therapist to provide direct services to clients in our Intervention and Prevention and Victim Survivor programs. This is a benefit-eligible position of 40 hours per week, and reports directly to the Victim Survivor Program Supervisor. Therapists in this position will facilitate psychotherapy groups as well as individual therapy.

An ideal candidate will have experience providing services to individuals who use harm and to individuals who have been harmed. Individuals who are systems connected, dealing directly with the issues of domestic violence or other closely related fields is preferred. Candidates for this position should be dedicated to engaging in personal and programmatic reflection regarding the issues of race, gender, power and privilege, equity and inclusion, social justice, and social determinants of health as they intersect with the issue of domestic violence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual therapy services.
  • Facilitation of groups as assigned
  • Offer client-focused, strengths-based, trauma-informed psychotherapy
  • Complete Diagnostic Assessments and Treatment plans with clients
  • Timely documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Maintain accurate HIPPA, VAWA and VOCA compliant client files
  • Communicate with community providers as needed for collaborative client care.
  • Provide guidance and training to interns as needed
  • Provides resource referrals as needed
  • Conducts and support first call shifts
  • This position is not limited to adult-only clinical work; direct service with children and families is a core expectation.
Administrative duties
  • Participate and support DAP events.
  • Give input and partner in DAP growth and development.
  • Attend clinical and administrative supervision
  • Attend meetings and trainings as assigned
Community Outreach
  • Facilitate community-based presentations and trainings as assigned.
  • Foster community partnership.
Desired Qualifications
  • Qualification as a Mental Health Professional as defined by the Minnesota Mental Health Act.
  • Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field
  • Previous experience working with individuals who have used violence is preferred.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse racial, cultural, and social-economic backgrounds
  • Willingness to engage in reflection on power and privilege as it relates to work with communities impacted by domestic violence.
  • Organized, collaborative, team oriented, growth-mindset, reflective, creative, self-starter, good communication skills, and capacity to follow through on tasks and responsibilities with minimal oversight.
  • A current license as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or licensed Psychologist (LP) in the state of Minnesota is nice to have
  • The ability to work well in a group setting.
  • Experience providing individual and/or group therapy to children, caregivers, and families, particularly in domestic violence, trauma, or systems-involved contexts.
