Job Overview
We are looking for a Psychiatric Associate to join our outstanding Adult Inpatient Mental Health unit! Unit 30 has 17 beds. The unit team consists of one attending Psychiatrist; two social workers; an occupational therapist; RN's, psych associates, and health unit coordinator. Station 30 has a mix of many challenging patients who struggle managing their lives in the community. Staff members work together as a team to provide care for these patients in a safe, therapeutic environment.
This role is approved for 56 hours, every two weeks on the evening shift, working 8-hour shifts and every other weekend with a variable schedule.

Responsibilities- Conducts safety checks of patients through visual observation and documentation.
- Conducts room, belonging and unit searches.
- Responds and participates in de‑escalation of patient including physical intervention as trained.
- Actively participates in milieu management with treatment team collaboration.
- Performs basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plan:
- Demonstrates knowledge of signs/symptoms of diagnoses and interventions.
- Conducts educational programming with individual and/or patient groups according to appropriate treatment plan.
- Responds to emergency situations as trained per policy.
- Participates in the treatment team’s mission, goals and plans:
- Acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary therapeutic team.
- Exhibits verbal communication in a timely, thorough, and professional manner.
- Possesses knowledge of current issues, changes and updates in Behavioral Services policies and procedures.
- Bachelor of Arts
- First aid certification required through the American Heart Association if assigned to work on a chemical dependency unit.
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross or MTN)
- Bachelor of Arts in Human Services Field
- Experience working with behavioral patients
