The Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health (ISGH) at the University of Minnesota Medical School is inviting applications for one postdoctoral research fellow to join a vibrant and growing team of faculty and postdoctoral fellows for a one-year position, with potential of renewal. In-person work is required within a hybrid-based collaborative environment.

ISGH promotes the sexual and gender health of Minnesota, the nation, and the world through preeminence in research, education, clinical service, and advocacy. This position will begin on January 2, 2026, though this date is flexible for the successful applicant. Candidates will have completed their PhD/doctorate prior to starting the fellowship program, and ABD (all but dissertation) candidates with a clear timeline to defense are also invited to apply.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• OnPOINT (Online Prevention Opportunities for Individuals using Nationwide Tips). In this study, we iteratively developed a limited interaction, person-centered, and theory-based mHealth intervention to support sexual wellbeing, HIV testing, and PrEP uptake tailored to young sexual minoritized men who could benefit from PrEP in partnership with a youth advisory board. Data collection is complete and available for analysis and dissemination. Data is available from online focus groups (n = 41), a cross-sectional survey (n = 229), and the pilot RCT (n = 118).
  
  Funding is being sought to support future OnPOINT implementation efforts.
• 3T-Prevent (Testing, Treating, and Telementoring for Prevention). In this study, we aim to pilot a stepped-wedge randomized controlled trial via a hybrid type-1 effectiveness-implementation study design within three HIV/STI testing clinics to promote implementation of expedited partner therapy and doxy-PEP. Formative qualitative data collection from patients (n = 20) and providers/stakeholders (n = 20) is complete and available for analysis and dissemination.
  
  The main trial is on hold pending grant termination appeal; additional funding sources are also being sought to continue this research. This project is a collaboration between the University of Minnesota, Medical College of Wisconsin, Purdue University, and Oklahoma State University. Travel may be required to Wisconsin, Indiana, and/or Wisconsin intermittently.
• TIPS (Tailoring Injectable PrEP Sustainability). In this study, we aim to identify determinants to LAI-PrEP roll‑out, conduct consensus building with stakeholders to plan optimal strategies to support LAI‑PrEP implementation, and pilot a cyclical Plan-Do-Study-Act implementation strategy within two outpatient clinics serving priority populations for HIV prevention. Data collection is ongoing and will be available for analysis and dissemination. This project is a collaboration between the University of Minnesota and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
  
  Travel may be required to Wisconsin intermittently.
• Team-based collaborations. Additional research projects led by other investigators are ongoing, and the Fellow will be invited to participate based on their interests and alignment with research and training goals. These projects focus on implementation of point-of-care syphilis testing, supporting HIV care engagement among older adults with HIV living in rural areas, and expanding PrEP access to women who engage in sex work.
  
  Additional projects beyond HIV prevention are also underway focused on the advancement of sexual and gender health.
• Research & Teaching.
