SUMMARY

Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Cardiovascular Technologist in the Cath Lab. This full-time position will work day shifts and on-call per unit policy. A $5,000 sign‑on bonus is available for eligible external candidates (former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).

Support Cardiologist with all required procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and operate specialized equipment including computer systems, hemodynamic monitoring and have working knowledge of cardiac catheterization laboratory. Trains staff technologists and students.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accept patients and assess their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements
  • Monitor patient for changes in hemodynamic status and report to physician
  • Maintain current knowledge/certification
  • Operate complex and sophisticated equipment related to a cardiac catheterization laboratory
  • Maintain catheterization laboratory equipment in proper working condition and report malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel
  • Maintain stock inventory and initiate orders
  • Perform assigned responsibilities/duties required by the cardiac catheterization laboratory
  • Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives
  • Operate specialized equipment necessary for procedure
  • Perform other related duties as required, but only after appropriate training
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of allied health services in cardiovascular/cardiopulmonary technology or radiography techniques
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Registered Technologist
OR
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification or eligible. Must obtain RCIS certification within one year of hire date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years recent cardiac catheterization laboratory experience
OR
  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
