The Records Management Analyst Associate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and security of both electronic and physical records. This role involves coordinating with business units to determine opportunities for improvement for efficient records management in collaboration with the records manager, records liaisons, and staff across the Council. The analyst associate also helps develop and promote records management best practices to ensure compliance with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
Responsibilities- Consults with customers on their specific records management needs.
- Recommends changes to policies and procedures.
- Processes offsite record storage requests from internal customers.
- Communicates opportunities for automating records management processes.
- Reviews existing training and recommends improvement and updates training resources.
- Meets with customers to identify the records they create, receive, or manage.
- Assists with updating retention schedules for customers based on business need and state/federal laws.
- Works with customers and records liaisons to implement retention schedules and destruction logs.
- Supports records querying, tagging & classification and other system processes.
- Participates in records focused Communities of Practice (CoP) to collaboratively understand user needs, train staff and communicate initiatives.
- Participates in local or national CoP, user groups or other industry groups (e.g. NAGARA) to incorporate industry best practices and standards at the Council.
A Bachelor's Degree in Library Sciences, History, Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Or an AA degree in Business Administration or related field and two (2) years or more of related experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
Or a High School Diploma and four (4) years or more of closely related experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
Pay RangeMetropolitan Council of the Twin Cities provided pay range: $73,569.60/yr — $/yr.
