** Job Description
** The Senior Accountant supports the Wealth, Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking Business Line Controllers team, with a primary focus on the Global Fund Services (GFS) business. GFS delivers comprehensive fund administration and asset servicing solutions to global asset managers.

This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and a strong month-end close process for GFS. The Senior Accountant prepares and reviews journal entries, produces financial reports, and delivers meaningful insights to GFS business leaders to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, produces high-quality, review-ready work, maintains well-organized and auditable documentation, and communicates effectively with finance and business partners while proactively escalating risks or issues as needed.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Monitors the integrity of the balance sheet and ensures completeness and accuracy.
* Analyze and explain financial variances; partner with business line leaders to understand key drivers and business trends.
* Prepare month-end close work papers and supporting documentation in accordance with established timelines.
* Produce quarterly financial statements for GFS as a standalone entity.
* Participate in accounting and finance initiatives, including process improvements and special projects.
* Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Operations, Treasury, and Financial Reporting teams to validate data quality and resolve issues.
* Communicate status updates, risks, and issues clearly to management and escalate appropriately.
* Assist with the development and maintenance of process narratives, control documentation, and supporting procedures to ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal control standards.
** Basic Qualifications**  - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience  - Five or more years of experience in financial accounting activities
** Preferred Skills/Experience**- Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with financial systems; exposure to Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, SQL, Copilot skills, or Hyperion Essbase is preferred.
