Overview
The Strategic Compensation Generalist will support Strategic Compensation in a primary support function, managing program inquiries and requests while providing operational continuity across compensation initiatives. They will ensure efficient intake, resolution, and escalation of compensation‑related communications while supporting advisory fee smoothing processes that align with RBC's productivity drivers. This involves guiding advisors and field leadership as a point of contact related to those functions.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain broad program knowledge across compensation initiatives to accurately address inquiries
- Intake and manage all email, call, and Web Ex message volumes related to Strategic Compensation programs and route inquiries to appropriate specialists or resolve directly based on complexity and scope
- Provide timely, accurate responses to stakeholders, ensuring professional service delivery
- Monitor advisory fee smoothing processes; ensure accuracy, documentation, reconciliations, and timeliness of execution
- Participate in cross‑training initiatives to build depth across multiple compensation functions
- Document procedures and maintain knowledge base for compensation programs
- Contribute to process optimization and identify opportunities for improvement
Must‑have
- Four‑year college degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
- 2+ years of financial services or investment industry experience
- Deadline‑driven and results‑oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and influence many levels within an organization
- Dedicated team player, willing to assist where necessary to make the team successful
Nice‑to‑have
- Experience in a role that works directly with financial advisors
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

The good‑faith expected salary range for the above position is $55,000 - $95,000 dependent on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company‑matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance;
and paid‑time‑off plan.
