The Private Client Service Director will serve as the primary financial leader and trusted advisor supporting assigned family members and their related entities, trusts and businesses. This role holds primary accountability for day-to-day financial oversight, coordination, and execution across each family’s financial enterprise. This position will serve as a liaison between the assigned family members and the family office. The job description will evolve as needed based on the ongoing needs of the family members.
The Director will operate with meaningful independence and direct engagement with family members. The role blends technical accounting leadership, advisory partnership, governance support, and strategic execution within a multi-entity family enterprise environment. This position requires strong problem-solving capabilities across all family business and financial matters.
This individual must exercise sound judgment, maintain discretion, and build trusted relationships while managing financial complexity.
Summary of Core Responsibilities- Serve as the primary financial partner to assigned family members.
- Provide proactive guidance on entity-level and personal financial matters.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations.
- Support coordination of planning initiatives and decision-making with family members and leadership.
- Act as the first point of contact for financial questions, issues, and strategic discussions.
- Coordinate with tax, legal, investment, trustees, and insurance advisors to ensure cohesive execution.
- Oversee strategy across assigned entities and personal structures.
- Support entity structuring, tax planning, and capital allocation decisions.
- Assist with refinancing, liquidity events, and strategic transactions such as personal asset acquisitions.
- Ensure alignment and accountability among external advisors.
- Lead financial management across assigned entities and operating businesses.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, liquidity planning, and capital expenditures.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and performance analytics.
- Monitor performance and provide actionable financial insights.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls and documentation standards.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support family governance processes through clear financial reporting and analysis.
- Prepare materials for family meetings and governance discussions.
- Promote clarity of roles, responsibilities, and financial accountability.
- Escalate material financial or structural risks appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with the trustees of the assigned family trusts.
- Provide direct reporting to both the CFO and assigned family members.
- Deliver concise dashboards and decision-support analysis.
- Maintain alignment with broader family office standards and strategy.
- Lead financial initiatives and cross-entity projects.
- Drive timelines, accountability, and disciplined execution.
- Provide ad hoc support including being business advisor for the assigned family members.
- Manage special projects and emerging priorities as directed by family members or the CFO.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Experience in family office, private multi-entity environments, or closely held operating
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with principals in a trusted advisory capacity.
- Strong technical accounting, structuring, and financial analysis skills.
- High emotional intelligence and discretion.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with senior leadership.
- Demonstrated experience managing financial complexity across multiple entities.
