Job Summary
:
RBC is a leading global bank, and they are seeking a Sr. Ultra High Net Worth Client Reporting Analyst to serve as a key subject matter expert in customized performance analysis for UHNW and institutional clients. The role involves collaborating with financial advisors, developing customized investment performance information, and ensuring the accuracy of investment performance data.
Responsibilities
:
• Build and maintain UHNW & Institutional (non-profit) report templates that are available firm-wide for all FAs and clients
• Create custom blended benchmarks for UHNW and institutional clients
• Ensure the accuracy of investment performance data, including RBC portfolio, held away assets and benchmark information
• Create custom reports for UHNW/I clients
• Develop a process to aggregate held away accounts/assets via RBC’s performance reporting system and include them in performance calculations.
• Develop a process to collect and input valuations for hard assets (e.g., yachts, investment properties), and include them in reports for UHNW clients. Respond to requests for this functionality by creating transactions in the performance reporting system and incorporate assets to reports
• Develop and use a process to collect liability information from UHNW clients for Net Worth Statement reporting purposes
• Audit underlying performance records for accuracy and reasonableness
• Respond to performance inquiries; provide performance support
• Consistent delivery of accurate investment performance information to clients and advisors
• Clear articulation of primary drivers of investment returns to advisors, through attribution analysis and risk adjusted return metrics
• Effective working relationship with internal groups and operations to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm policies
Qualifications
:
Required
:
• Deep understanding of time weighted return calculations and impact of cash flows on performance calculations
• Ability to reconcile performance calculations
• Familiarity with Wealth Management and experience in financial services
• Technological skills – will need to become expert on performance reporting system’s functionality, including both the UI as well as reporting
• Process-oriented – development and execution of processes, including ongoing data entry and management
• Solution-oriented & creative problem solver – able to interface with FAs and potentially UHNW/institutional clients to understand what they are trying to achieve, and to build a report that meets the need or suggest alternatives
• Series 7, 65/66
• BA/BS in business, finance, or marketing with 3+ years securities or financial markets experience
• Understanding of fundamental performance measurement concepts – e.g., time weighted returns, IRR, attribution analysis
• Detail and process oriented
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing professional environment
• Willingness to aggressively learn new skills in a short period of time
• Strong analytical skills needed to understand data inputs and outputs, and identify anomalies
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Experience and comfort collaborating with Financial Advisors and external clients; service orientation
• Strong customer service orientation
Preferred
:
• CFA and/or CIPM designation
• Self-directed and pro-active team player, who works well under minimal supervision
• Bias for action and execution
• Adaptable to change
• Organizational awareness and understanding of the portfolio management process
• Strategic influencing, negotiating and persuasion skills (ability to assertively express ideas, needs and requests and build group consensus – “sells” ideas)
• Experience with performance calculation and reporting software
