We are seeking a Financial Controller for a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Minneapolis‑St. Paul Area. The Financial Controller will handle the preparation and review of financial statements, oversee financial reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities include managing all accounting and financial reporting activities including month end and year end closings. Conducting financial analysis to support decision-making, and preparing detailed financial reports.
This role will also involve identifying efficiencies, preparing and monitoring budgets, and ensuring financial integrity to support organizational objectives. Lead cash flow
- Manage all accounting and financial reporting activities, including month‑end and year‑end closings.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Provide analysis and insight into financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate and prepare for audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including overseeing tax filings and related processes.
- Lead cash flow management and financial risk management activities.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with senior management and department heads to support business strategy and decision-making.
- CPA certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience with financial statement preparation and month‑end/year‑end close processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, or similar) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of tax laws, audits, and financial regulations.
- Experience working in Food Ingredient and Commodity Markets prefered
