Overview

Job Name: Trust Asset Servicing

Job Level: Trust Operations Specialist 4

Responsibilities
  • Domestic and Global Trade Settlement – settle already executed trades on the trust accounting system and the sub-custodian system; research trade and out of balance discrepancies; move money between sub-custodian and the bank; move money between trust accounts; work with brokers and investment managers on discrepancies.
  • Asset Transfers – Move assets in or out of trust accounts and between other banks or brokers; research and resolve any out of balance discrepancies.
  • Income Posting – post bond interest and dividends to client accounts; balance money movement versus the sub-custodian; research and resolve out of balance conditions.
  • Vault Custodian – move physical assets into or out of the trust vault under dual control; post transactions on the trust accounting system; balance vault assets against the trust system.
  • Class Actions – research transactions that would be eligible for class action proceeds; work with the class action vendor to resolve discrepancies and answer questions.
  • Foreign Tax Reclamation – file necessary paperwork to get the most favorable tax withholding for trust accounts; work with relationship managers and sub-custodian to resolve differences; fill out tax forms as required for specific entities.
  • Cross train on other trust operations desks in order to support out of office back-up coverage and peak volumes.
Preferred Experience
  • Trust or brokerage operations experience
  • Financial services background
  • Knowledge of trust accounting software
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Excellent math aptitude, typing, computer and 10-key skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, and Internet
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping skills
  • Self-motivation, and attention to details working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing)
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • High level of accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of internal service standards
  • Ability to deliver a high level of responsiveness to internal and external clients
