Our client is a well-established, growing organization in the manufacturing space seeking a Cash Application Specialist to support a high-volume accounts receivable environment. This role is ideal for someone who is extremely hands-on with cash applications, comfortable navigating multiple systems, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.
Position OverviewThe Cash Application Specialist will focus on accurately applying and reconciling customer payments while partnering closely with AR, credit, and internal finance teams. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid ERP experience, and advanced Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities- Apply high volumes of customer payments (checks, ACH, wires, credit cards) accurately and timely
- Reconcile daily cash activity and bank reports
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, deductions, over payments, and short pays
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to cash activity and unapplied cash
- Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve remittance issues
- Assist with month-end close activities and general ledger support
- Perform additional accounting support tasks as needed
- Strong, dedicated cash application experience (high-volume environment required)
- Experience working within large ERP systems (Dynamics 365 or similar preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reconciliations)
- Ability to adapt quickly, manage changing priorities, and work with urgency
- AR or accounting experience in a fast-paced organization
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Manufacturing or high-revenue company background
