We’re seeking a strong, people-focused Controller to join a privately held, multi‑state services organization. This role is responsible for overseeing all day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations, including GAAP reporting, multi‑entity and multi‑state tax compliance, internal controls, budgeting, and forecasting. The Controller will lead, grow, and mentor a team of five, report directly to senior leadership, and work in a high‑quality, values‑influenced culture while operating autonomously.

Responsibilities- Lead daily accounting operations and routine financial activities
- Oversee close processes to ensure timely reporting
- Coordinate required tax filings and related compliance activities
- Review financial statements for accuracy and reporting standards
- Ensure reconciliations and management reports are completed in a timely manner
- Provide financial insights to support leadership decision‑making
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
- Deliver performance feedback and support professional growth
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support annual budgeting and financial planning efforts
- Provide forecasting and variance analysis to monitor performance
- Review operational results and recommend financial adjustments
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities
- Drive process, system, and workflow improvements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of public/industry accounting experience
- CPA
- Salary Range: $140,000–$160,000 per year

Actual base salary will be determined based on an individual's experience, skills, education, certifications, credentials, special skills, accomplishments, and other factors relevant to the position.
This role is based in the Twin Cities. Applicants must currently reside in Minnesota or are planning to relocate to Minnesota in the near future.
