Field Operations CoordinatorThe Ash Group is hiring a Field Operations Coordinator for our client (a major electricity and natural gas utility provider). This is an onsite, 4‑month contract role based in Minneapolis, MN
, offering a pay rate of $62.50 per hour. This role is essential for maintaining the safety and reliability of the electrical grid, specifically focusing on the creation and scheduling of distribution switching procedures to support construction and maintenance projects.

- Compensation: $62.50 per hour.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Write complex distribution switching procedures for construction and maintenance departments while strictly adhering to safety policies and guidelines.
- Coordinate directly with the Control Center to ensure switching plans are reviewed, approved, and integrated into the master schedule.
- Manage the end‑to‑end Outage Coordination (OC) lifecycle, from the initial switch plan request to final hand‑off and real‑time support for the Control Center.
- Collaborate with a team of six to prioritize upcoming switch plans, ensuring timely customer response and preventing project delays.
- Act as a technical liaison for field crews, answering questions and troubleshooting plan discrepancies during active switching operations.
- Utilize specialized software, potentially including Oracle NMS
, to manage outage data and system configurations.
What We’re Looking For
- Field
Experience:
5+ years of hands‑on experience as a Trouble man or Lineman is required to ensure deep practical knowledge of the distribution electrical system. - Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of electrical distribution systems and the ability to write safe, efficient switching sequences.
- Coordination
Skills:
Proven ability to manage schedules, meet deadlines, and coordinate across multiple internal departments (Control Center, Field Crews, Engineering). - Adaptability: A proactive professional who works well in both collaborative team settings and as an individual contributor in a fast‑paced environment.
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with utility‑specific management tools; experience with Oracle NMS is considered a strong asset.
