We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Project Engineer) to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. This role is responsible for overseeing mechanical infrastructure from initial concept through installation and final operation.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, deep knowledge of building codes and regulations, and proven experience working within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and process systems.
- Perform detailed system analysis for both new and existing facilities.
- Develop mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical reports in compliance with local and national codes.
- Recommend system improvements based on performance data and design evaluations.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall project plans.
- Ensure designs meet specifications, budget requirements, and project timelines.
- Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and change orders during construction.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and national mechanical codes and regulations.
- Lead internal and external design reviews.
- Provide technical direction and troubleshooting support during all project phases.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff, offering guidance and professional development.
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for mechanical engineering matters.
- Provide technical support during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
- Prepare and present technical information to clients and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong experience designing and managing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
- Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of mechanical system design, installation, and commissioning.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, local regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
